The night before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the apartment, not a creature was stirring, except for the occasional sirens and honking of traffic outside the window. The plastic bags full of garbage were hung from the door knobs, in hopes they would be taken out by Mark to the trash bins.
Mark was still nestled all snug in his bed, visions of investment charts dancing through his head. When arose from the open window (Its ok to leave your windows open at night in Hawaii at long as you are 20 floors up) arose such a clatter, Mark sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the bathroom Mark flew like a flash, checked the bathtub and toilet to see if the pipes had broken again, yet saw no water had splashed. Mark checked the window to see the objects below, this was Hawaii and expected no snow. When what to his wondering eyes should a appear, but a miniature canoe and eight tiny.... can anyone give me an idea how to finish this poem?
Anyway, this is Hawaii. Until recently, the only signs I saw of Christmas are apartment verandas covered with Christmas lights and increased traffic around the mall. I needed a boost of Christmas spirit. Fortunately, my family sent me lots of e-mails, cards and presents which has lifted my spirits.
I even bought myself a few presents. I bought a small portable amplifier for my guitar so I practice playing in my room. I also bought several books, one on technical analysis for my job, and another on determining probabilities. I also bought two more books in the Harry Potter series. After enjoying the first one, I wanted to continue reading about Harry's magical adventures.
However, I have been ignoring my CFA studies still. I somehow manage to always put that on the backburner despite it being so important. Somehow I have to find the discipline to get it done.
I would love to talk about my job more, but I can't really disclose much information without giving away important confidential info. But I can say, my job is make money. Its not that I love money, but I like the idea that I am adding value, and see it in the numbers. I really enjoy my job. I enjoy what I do and look forward to going to work, which is a change from some of my previous job experiences. There is also something very rewarding about doing something that you worked hard to get to.
