  • I want to ask the students, what do they want to talk about in 2007?
  • Do the students have any predictions for 2007?
  • 12/26 - 12/28/06
  • What are your New Year's Resolutions for 2007?

  • 12/18 - 12/21/06
  • We will surely talk about Christmas and gift giving this week. Do you believe in Santa Claus? What do you want for Christmas, what kind of presents? We'll talk about decorations including stockings. What are they for? Some other Christmas traditions.
  • What are your Christmas plans? Will you be sending cards
  • 12/13 - 12/16/06
  • Could not think of anything. Any suggestions?
  • 12/4 - 12/8/06
  • Date Week. We discussed the in and outs of asking for a date and date conversation.
  • Be prepared to answer "What is Romance?". I want to know what Chinese people think is romantic. What would be the perfect date or a romantic evening. Would it be at the Kao-ya Restaurant eating Peking Duck, or smelling flowers at Xiang-shan?
  • Videos - I want to take short video Interviews of students. I need volunteers!
  • 11/27 - 11/30/06
  • Since its gotten cold and snowed recently, I would like to ask what people do to prevent catching a cold. What kind of foods are best, what to wear, when to go out, and how to prevent getting a virus.
  • I would like to discuss how best to prepare for the holidays. What events should I go to and when and how to start preparing.
  • I also will discuss marketing ideas.
  • 11/20 - 11/23/06
  • Rachel left some great ideas on the OLD forum regarding interview questions. I would like to go over those ideas as well as how to answer those kinds of questions.
  • Remember, every Monday, I will surely ask you how was your weekend? What did you do?
  • I will follow up on the chapters from the book that we discussed before.
  • I will probably be trying to find new tongue twisters. Maybe one for everyday or everyweek in class.
  • Do you have any other topic ideas? If so, go to the forum and let me know!
  • I also need to know where I can get business cards made.
  • 11/13 - 11/16/06 Alright, what shall we talk about? Well, I was hoping to get some ideas from the forum, but no one except Jennifer has left any messages for topic ideas. Are you too shy? So I will come up with some ideas.
  • Monday, I will surely ask you how was your weekend? What did you do?
  • Last week we talked about your favorite idol. So this week I will ask you if you met that person, how would you feel, and what would you ask them.
  • I will ask you about Saving Money - what are some everyday ways we can save money? Any good ideas?
  • Many Chinese people ask me if I know any famous Chinese people. I know a few. I will ask the students, which Chinese person do they think every foriegner should know and why?
  • Do you have any other topic ideas? If so, go to the forum and let me know!
  • 10/29/06 October 31st is Halloween (an American tradition), so on Monday or Tuesday I plan on asking all the students to tell me a scary story! The story could be about ghosts, goblins, witches, anything is ok, but try to make it scary. The story can be true or made-up (made-up means come from your imagination). All the other students will guess if your story is true or not, then you can tell us! So prepare a scary story to tell us in class! It can be true of made-up!
